JACK-O’s 31-Day Halloween Movie Challenge: Streaming Guide (October List #3)

A list of 38 movies that take place on Halloween or have a Halloween scene. I created two movie lists like this before in 2018 and 2019 that mostly contained the same movies in both lists. For this year's list I tried to include movies that a) are not on those last two lists and b) are streaming free with ads online.

There are a few good ones but most of these movies are definitely not the next Halloween (1978) or Trick 'r Treat (2007), many are low budget films with terrible acting, cheap effects & makeup, bad storylines and may be unwatchable to general audiences. You've been warned. Some days have double/quadrilogy movies that are sequels or prequels. Here's the list:

10/1:

On Halloween night, a series of short horror stories unfolds, each following different characters who encounter killers, monsters, and supernatural threats across various spooky scenarios.

A scrappy anthology grab bag where Halloween isn’t just one night of terror—it’s several different ways to regret leaving the house.

10/31 (2017) streaming on Tubi, Roku, YouTube, YouTube

A follow-up Halloween anthology presents new short horror tales, each featuring killers, curses, and supernatural encounters that unfold across another chaotic October 31st.

A sequel anthology where Halloween once again proves it doesn’t need a plot—it just needs people making very bad decisions in new locations.

10/31 Part 2 (2021) streaming on Tubi, YouTube, YouTube, YouTube

A third Halloween anthology continues the series with new interconnected horror shorts, featuring killers, creatures, and supernatural events unfolding across another night of terror.

A trilogy entry where Halloween horror keeps expanding like a cursed mixtape—same chaos, new victims, slightly fewer chances to escape.

10/31 Part III (2022) streaming on Tubi, YouTube

The fourth installment of the Halloween anthology series presents a new set of horror shorts, each following different characters facing killers, curses, and supernatural threats on another October 31st.

A fourth round of Halloween chaos where the only real tradition is people continuing to ignore every obvious warning sign.

Autumn Road (2021) streaming on Tubi
10/3:

On Halloween night in a small town, a radio DJ and local residents experience interconnected horror stories involving ghosts, killers, and supernatural forces.

A Halloween anthology where the candy is sweet, the vibes are sour, and every story feels like it was whispered through haunted radio station 6.66 FM at 3am the devil's hour.

Bad Candy (2021) streaming on Tubi, Roku, Plex, YouTube
10/4:

On Halloween night, a group of teens inadvertently awakens a cursed urban legend involving a demonic figure tied to a mysterious black pumpkin that begins hunting them.

A low-budget Halloween myth come to life where the scariest thing isn’t the black pumpkin—it’s realizing Bloody Bobby already knows your zip code.

Black Pumpkin (2018) streaming on Tubi, YouTube, Vudu

Set in the aftermath of a tragic Halloween night in a small town, a group of teens investigates a local legend tied to a violent masked killer whose origins trace back to Fall Creek’s dark past.

A prequel that digs into the legend’s roots—because apparently even murderous Halloween folklore needs an emotional Bloody Bobby origin story.

On Halloween night, a group of locals awakens an ancient Irish curse tied to the mythical Crom, unleashing a supernatural force that begins hunting them across the town.

A mythic Halloween Goosebumps-style tale where the legend of Crom turns out to be less “campfire story” and more “you absolutely should not have said that out loud.”

Flesh Eater (1988) streaming on Tubi, YouTube
10/11:

On Halloween night, a nurse and her daughter are taken hostage in their home by a violent intruder, leading to an escalating siege of brutal home-invasion chaos when unexpected reinforcements arrive.

10/12:

Six escaped psychiatric patients—each modeled after infamous serial killers—take over a Halloween haunted house attraction, turning it into a real-life slaughterhouse.

Two death-obsessed teenage sisters’ bond is tested when one is bitten by a werewolf and begins a violent transformation that mirrors their own turbulent adolescence.

Fear Pharm (2020) streaming on

After surviving the original attraction, new victims are drawn into another round of the Fear Pharm’s deadly Halloween maze, where the masked killer resumes his sadistic game of survival.

A sequel that proves the only thing more reliable than a haunted maze is its refusal to stay closed after Halloween.
