JACK-O’s 31-Day Halloween Movie Challenge: Streaming Guide (October 2019 List #2)

Almost a week late, but here's my list of 31 movies and series I'm watching this month. There are a few repeats from 2018's list. Most are free to watch with ads on Tubi, Pluto TV, and Plex, while a few are streaming on Netflix, Shudder, Prime Video, and Hulu. The rest are movies I own on DVD or Blu-ray. 10/5: Hell House LLC Franchise (2015-2019) Original Trilogy

Five years after an unexplained malfunction causes the death of 15 tour-goers and staff on the opening night of a Halloween haunted house tour, a documentary crew travels back to the scene of the tragedy to find out what really happened.

10/6: Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor (2023)

A group of cold case investigators stay at the Carmichael Manor. After four nights, the group was never heard from again. What is discovered on their footage is even more disturbing than anything found on the Hell House tapes.

10/7: Hell House LLC: Lineage (2025)

After a near-death experience, Vanessa Shepherd faces nightmares in Abaddon. As mysterious deaths occur around her, she discovers her connection to the Abaddon Hotel, Carmichael Manor, and decades of unexplained murders.

10/8: Lords of Salem (2012)

Radio DJ Heidi is sent a box containing a record--a "gift from the Lords". The sounds within the grooves trigger flashbacks of her town's violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the Lords back to take revenge on Salem, Massachusetts?

10/9: Bad Apples (2018)

It's Halloween night, and two "bad apples" decide to play some wicked tricks on the one house in a suburban cul-de-sac that is not celebrating Halloween. They terrorize a young couple in their home and these tricks become increasingly more sinister as the night progresses, finally ending in a Halloween the entire neighborhood will never forget.

10/10: Creepshow TV Series (2019) “All Hallows’ Eve”

A group of young trick-or-treaters terrorize their small town on Halloween. A young pothead returning from a trip finds a mysterious man cursed with the ability to spit out gold coins when in pain squeezed into his suitcase.

10/11: Are You Afraid of the Dark? (2019)

An anthology series that follows different chapters of the Midnight Society, a group of teenagers who gather at midnight to tell scary stories, such as the Carnival of Doom, Curse of the Shadows, and Ghost Island.

10/12: Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (2018)

On Halloween, two young friends find a magic book that brings a ventriloquist's dummy to life.

10/13: Halloween at Aunt Ethel's (2019)

Everyone in town knows the story of Old Aunt Ethel. It's said she makes Halloween candy and pumpkin pie out of the kids that trick-or-treat at her house. This Halloween, the neighborhood teens are going to find out the truth.

10/14: The Witching Season (2015- )

Fueled by nostalgia, this anthology of short horror films tells original tales of terror set during the Halloween season.

10/15: Pumpkins (2018)

An atmospheric slasher horror movie based in North Yorkshire. A survival experience group clash with a farmer set on revenge, as they wade into his land not knowing what awaits them and their team members.

10/16: The Guest (2014)

A soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.

10/17: The Houses October Built Franchise (2014-2017) Double Feature

Five friends are stalked by a group of mysterious and disturbed individuals while on a road trip looking for the ultimate haunted house attraction.

10/20: The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXX

The 30th Treehouse of Horror delivers three Halloween segments spoofing "Stranger Things", "Heaven Can Wait", and "The Shape of Water", all introduced by a possessed Maggie in the show’s 666th episode milestone.

    1. I recommend watching Bob, it's very good :) I enjoyed the whole trilogy. Part II has a few new twists that adds to the story of the first film. And I loved how they wrapped up everything in Part III.

  4. I just watched Haunt earlier today. I won't spoil anything but I'll day this: it was a treat. Is it just me or have the 2010s been a great decade for horror?
