John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN (1978) on NBC Friday Night at the Movies

The world television premiere of John Carpenter's "Halloween" aired on the NBC network on Friday, October 30, 1981 the same day Rick Rosenthal’s 1981 sequel "Halloween II" was released in theaters. Here is the opening promo along with some scenes from the film and bumpers from that broadcast. The movie had twelve additional minutes added to pad it out to the two-hour time slot and to tie in the brother/sister relationship between Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers.
