Welcome to the very first feature-length motion picture to be produced by my new company, Fred Olen Ray Productions LLC. I've never crowdfunded a feature film before and I may never do it again, so here's our chance to do something meaningful together as a team! A chance to produce a first-rate movie with an incredible array of talent.

The movie JACK-O 2: BLOOD MOON RISING will highlight a monstrous creature, dark swamps and fair maidens in peril. All the things I’ve spent a lifetime perfecting in cult genre classics like HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS, EVIL TOONS, BIOHAZARD, DEEP SPACE, SUPER SHARK and DIRE WOLF.

Now it’s time for us to work together.

THE LOW-DOWN

For the last decade I have focused on dozens of Made for TV network movies… Christmas films and Lifetime Women’s thrillers and it’s been great, opening an entirely new page in my long career… but my early Drive-in movie roots are begging me to take another walk on the wild side, a walk back to my beginnings and I want to do it in Florida with you.

I'm going to produce a 1970s styled Drive-in movie… the kind fans want but no big company wants to finance anymore. That’s where I hope you come in!

Your crowdfunding dollars will go towards actors, crew, travel, equipment rentals, insurance, locations, food, wardrobe and, not least, creature effects. I have always pressed for the highest quality in every step of production and I'm not taking my foot off the gas now.

I have directed over 160 successful movies and television shows with legendary stars like Chevy Chase, Steven Seagal, Telly Savalas, Martin Landau, Luke Perry, Peter Fonda, Christian Slater, Shelley Long, George Hamilton, David Carradine and even the iconic Lee Van Cleef.

I received three Emmy nominations and won more awards than I can display, including a 2021 Emmy for outstanding Digital Daytime Drama. My films have been distributed by 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Paramount and Lion’s Gate.

INSPIRATION

My passion springs from the heyday of the 1970s Drive-in Movie Theater where I thrilled to great home-grown exploitation movies like SLITHIS, DEATH CURSE OF TARTU and GATOR BAIT. My spirit haunted the Drive-in and when I began my career, it was in movies like SHOCK WAVES and my swamp epic THE ALIEN DEAD starring serial legend Buster Crabbe. I have long awaited a return to the genre I love so much and now JACK-O 2 is my chance.

WHAT I NEED

I’m looking to crowdfund $50,000. This amount will help offset my personal cash investment for the bulk of the financing and allow me to import a name star. After all, what’s a Drive-in movie without a Drive-in Movie Star?

JACK-O 2 will never languish in the purgatory of uncompleted half-realized projects. Jonestown Films has launched an indiegogo campaign to help fund their 1990's throwback Halloween slasher called The Boy From Below described as "A Nostalgia Driven Dive into the Era of the Video Rental Store."

A reimagining of their previous 2017 film "The Wicked One" but "With A REAL Budget, Talented Cast and Crew," and director Tory Jones' "hope to deliver a film and Character, Horror Fans will respond to and love for years to come."

Here is the SYNOPSIS: Local video store clerk Quinn Curtis’s Annual Halloween movie marathon with her friends turns deadly when a Creepy Figure in a bizarre truck begins following them and playing his own terrifying game of trick or treat at their expense. Now the reclusive Quinn must survive her own horror movie come to life at the hands of The Boy from Below.

The film's cast includes horror icons Dee Wallace (E.T., Cujo, Halloween), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp, Terrifier 2), Leah Voysey (Terrifier 2), Chaney Morrow (Haunt), Richie Ramone of The Ramones and Tommy Lee Wallace (Halloween, Halloween III).

Happy Halloween, creeps! Beyond excited to reveal the official poster art for The Witching Season II, the long-anticipated follow-up to our Halloween horror anthology The Witching Season. Get ready for five more spine-tingling tales of terror and suspense that we hope will offer spooky season entertainment for years to come.

This time around, we are so excited to have teamed up with Slasher Dave who will conjure a nostalgia-induced musical score for all five episodes. And of course, we are working once again with the brilliant mind of Sadist Art Designs who has designed our beautiful poster art along with the title text logos for all five of our ghoulish tales.

We plan to unearth five more chilling tales in The Witching Season II, and in a similar fashion as our first installment, each episode will tackle a different, classic sub-genre of horror.

This time around, our sinister storytelling includes...

A little creature story.

A grim fable about death.

A classic vampire tale.

A scarecrow story from out of this world.

An 80s-style slasher with a pscyhological twist.

Whereas The Witching Season only had loose connections between episodes, every segment of The Witching Season II will have direct connections to the other stories surrounding it, creating a bit of extra fun and intrigue for those who pay attention to the gory details!

1. JACK-O'-SLIME (Directed by Michael Ballif)

Synopsis: Struggling to carve a Jack-O'-Lantern for a contest, a boy comes across a strange jar of green slime labeled “Jack-O’-Slime” in the back room of an oddball novelty shop. The substance claims to magically carve a pumpkin without doing any of the work. It appears successful, but there’s something wrong with the pumpkin.

2. GRIM PACT (Directed by James Morris)

Synopsis: A woman conducts a seance in a desperate effort to bring her deceased child back from the grave, but the otherworldly entity she must summon has its own set of rules. In order for a life to be given, a life must also be taken.

3. VAMP NIGHT (Directed by Michael Ballif)

Synopsis: On the road to a vampire-themed Halloween party (Vamp Night), a man encounters a strange hitchhiker dressed as a vampire. Something isn't quite right with the mysterious passenger and he needs to get him out of the car.

4. THE VESSEL (Directed by James Morris)

Synopsis: An isolated man, living in a camper on rural farmland, witnesses a strange cosmic event; an object from space that has crashlanded into a nearby field. But the object is carrying something, something inhuman... and it's looking for a vessel to inhabit.

5. HALLOWEEN SPECIAL (Directed by Michael Ballif)

Synopsis: A woman spends Halloween night with her grandmother in a haunted, victorian home. Upon discovering a mysterious VHS tape, simply labeled "Halloween Special", she quickly realizes she has unwittingly become entangled in its nightmarish tale.

OVERVIEW:

Witching Season Films was started in 2015 by filmmaker Michael Ballif, whose first project under the brand was a five-episode Halloween anthology, The Witching Season. Directed by Ballif and James Morris, the series had several viral hits on YouTube, went on to receive physical distribution through Scream Team Releasing, and landed a long-term spot on multiple streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Tubi.

In 2020, Witching Season Films released their first feature-length movie, They Live Inside Us (written and directed by Michael Ballif, starring James Morris), which went on to screen at numerous festivals, win several awards, and receive a global distribution deal from film giant Gravitas Ventures.

Now, in 2021, the company has begun production on their second feature-film, He Never Left (written and directed by James Morris), which tells the story of Gabriel, a fugitive hiding out in a rundown motel, who after hearing strange noises from an adjoining room, accidentally becomes the target of a notorious killer who’s legend has haunted the local community for decades.

OUR STORY CONTINUES:

Our tight-knit team of passionate, Halloween & horror-loving filmmakers have been hard at work deciding what project would come next. The global pandemic was (and continues to be) a major factor in many of the decisions made over the last couple of years, delaying multiple projects and throwing a wrench into numerous things we had hoped to get moving on.

However, for the past year, James Morris has been hard at work on a new concept, which was officially approved by founder Michael Ballif, and is now in pre-production with a hopeful release of late 2022.

The film is Written & Directed by James Morris and produced by Morris and Michael Ballif. Ballif will also be reprising his role as Cinematographer. The film will feature a new, terrifying score by Composer Randin Graves. Witching Season veterans Sadie Ballif, Allen Bradford, Hailey Nebeker, Jordan Swenson, and Samuel Morris are also returning. The film features an original and haunting mask created and designed by the one and only Billy-James of Open Grave FX. Taking everything we have learned from both The Witching Season and They Live Inside Us, our team is excited to create a new, terrifying installment in the Witching Season Films saga.

We at Witching Season Films have spent years trying to bring you (our audience) nostalgic, exciting, and often free content, and although we have come a long way, we are still turning to the passionate indie-horror community to help bring this project to life.

WHAT WE NEED:

We've completed the opening sequence, but now we need to make the rest of the film. We are hoping to raise a starter fund of $15,000, which would allow us to fully-fund the basic needs.

We are planning to move into production in the early Spring of 2022.

Followers of our previous work know the type of quality we can achieve with very little, and we have always taken great pride in our transparency and refusal to inflate our production with unnecessary expenditures.

Obviously, the more we can raise the better, and any additional funds over-goal will absolutely be utilized directly into production, but starting small has never been a problem for us.

SYNOPSIS: A group of legend trippers and a local horror hostess head out on a Halloween night adventure to boost their fan bases. Unbeknownst to them, a few wrong turns and an old town legend send them straight into the clutches of pure evil. Who will survive this night of terror?
