Super Happy Fun Clown (2025) is now streaming free with ads at Tubi and Plex. The horror-comedy premiered on BloodStream on January 1, 2026, following a festival run. It features a gritty, high-gore style that has been described as a "blood-soaked, darkly comedic slasher" with a heavy metal soundtrack.
What makes Jenn-O the Clown happy? Putting smiles on peoples’ faces, of course! But so does torture, murder, sex, and cannibalism. Jennifer Sullivan was the proverbial wunderkind. Talented, intelligent, ambitious, and propelled by a strict momager, she dreamed of success. Now she works a meaningless job, having never discovered the secret of turning her abilities into fame and fortune.
The only thing that brings her happiness is her side gig as a clown. Her coworker, Ryan, offers a glimmer of hope. Jenn reaches a breaking point and coalesces her talent as a clown with her fascination of classic movie monsters and serial killers to unleash a night of infamy that will finally make her famous - that is, unless detectives Marshall and Barnes can stop her.
Directed by Patrick Rea and written/produced by Eric Winkler, it is a feature-length adaptation of their previous short film. The film stars Jennifer Seward as the struggling, abused woman who embraces violence as "Jenn-O the Clown" on Halloween night, with a main cast including Nicole Hall (Detective Marshall), Matt Leisy (Detective Barnes), and Deborah Madick (Mom).

Jack-O's Review: It plays as a dark comedy, with Jenn-O the Clown coming off as strangely charming even while she’s dispatching victims in creative and gruesome ways. The film really nails its Halloween vibe—crunchy fall leaves, trick-or-treaters roaming the streets, and a bloody rampage set inside a haunted attraction all add to the atmosphere. The score didn’t quite work for me, relying heavily on droning guitar tones, though I can see how it contributes to the film’s slow, bleak, and uneasy psychological mood. Overall, I liked it. ★★★ @trickhorrortreater

"Despite its flaws, this is an entertaining killer clown-slash-serial killer horror that succeeds on the strength of its central performance and a couple of nice ideas, but it does occasionally feel like there were some lost opportunities with the script." ★★★ ActionReloaded.com
"...the film treads a narrow path between bleak humour and outright horror. At times the balance falters, and the first half’s pacing may feel punishingly slow. Yet that same commitment to monotony mirrors Jennifer’s lived experience so closely that the discomfort becomes part of the design. When momentum finally builds, it feels earned rather than abrupt... It’s an uneven but distinctive work—one that lingers less for its body count than for the emotional decay that sets everything in motion." Bloody-Flicks.co.uk
"An effective character study/slasher effort, this one comes off quite nicely for what it is, as one or a few small factors involved here that hold it down aren’t enough to hold off those positives. Those with an appreciation for this style, who are curious about it, or who are fans of the creative crew, will have a lot to like, while most others out there should heed caution." ★★★★ DonsHorrorWorld.blogspot.com
"Super Happy Fun Clown is a remarkably unique and satisfyingly peculiar tale of a female clown’s quest for vengeance, and it features an exceptional performance from Seward in the titular role." ★★★★½ DreadCentral.com
"...Super Happy Fun Clown is not a super happy fun time, but it does deliver a grungy killer clown story meant for fans of the genre who want to squirm at the grossness, cheer at the violence, and indulge in the nonsense." FilmThreat.com
"Likely to be one of the stranger films you’d come across, Super Happy Fun Clown warns about the dangers of living someone else’s life. Interesting commentary about identity, mental health, and societal pressure to conform demonstrates that there is a strong story underneath the messiness. Pacing issues, awkward dialogue, and hit-or-miss comedy make Super Happy Fun Clown, if nothing else, a memorable, flawed film. Whether clowns make you smile or scream, this carnival caper is bound to leave an impression either way." Overall Score? 5/10 Horror2TheMax.com
"Best Parts: The movie shines in exploring obsession taking over someone’s life and people stopping them from chasing any sort of dreams. It keeps things calm but twisted when Jenny is unleashed on the darker side to her obsession. The performances are great with Jennifer Seward shining in the leading role. Elsewhere, it has a dark twisted almost humour about everything, which comes from how Jenny is portrayed in life. Worst Parts: The cops investigating the nights events don’t seem a larger than life as many other characters designed to try and stop a murder spree. It felt like something bigger was designed and even give us a Loomis Myers connection. Final Thoughts – Super Happy Fun Clown is a twisted, fun horror with plenty of mystery." ★★★ MoviesReview101.com
"The film is staggeringly flat and one-note. How exactly can you have an extended sequence where a serial killer clown goes on a killing rampage through a Haunted Cinema attraction and dispatching the costumed participants, all of whom are dressed as classic Universal Monsters, and still not manage to raise any flicker of interest in the person viewing? Somehow that is exactly what happens. The film provides a backstory for killer clown Jenn-O such as her having abusive mum and an abusive husband amongst other characters, all of which adds nothing. For me, fictional killers play better without a glib generic reason offered up as motivation for why they turned out the way they do. There is more thought given to namedropping films to appeal to other film fans rather than producing anything in the way of scares, thrills, or characters to empathize with." ★ MyBloodyReviews.com
"Super Happy Fun Clown takes a playful, sometimes silly approach to a story of shattered dreams, the weight of expectations, and unbridled slaughter. Rea and Winkler once again showcase their ability to create a complex character that’s as relatable as they are diabolical. Sometimes the various themes and tones lack cohesion, but the goofiness helps make for a fun watch. Seward gives a compelling performance, but really shines with her physicality when in silent clown mode. The Halloween setting and practical gore will likely make Super Happy Fun Clown a frequent rewatch for horror fans each spooky season." OVERALL RATING: 6/10 TheBloggingBanshee.com
"Is it meant to be funny in places? It certainly seems that way: little visual touches (like the Richard Ramirez wall calendar) invite us to laugh; the Three Stooges blare out of the TV set in Jen’s house; the gore is OTT enough to void empathy with the victims... At its best, and despite some tonal issues, Super Happy Fun Clown is another independent film which examines the disconnect between personal fulfilment and a version of ‘fifteen minutes of fame’ which is both so possible and so out of reach in today’s cultural climate. Working hard to enact the shift from person to persona, Jennifer Seward turns in a good performance here, and certainly the pressures of ‘making it’ from the perspective of indie filmmakers in a tough business adds an additional layer of interest to this project."
