Halloween Daily News broke the news, just in time for Halloween. Witching Season Films, the makers of The Witching Season web anthology series, is teaming up with Gravitas Ventures to release Michael Ballif's first feature-length film They Live Inside Us this upcoming fall season, October 6th 2020. This project has been many years in the making and I cannot wait to finally check it out.

Written, directed, produced, photographed and edited by Michael Ballif, along with co-producers James Morris, Allen Bradford and Jordan Swenson, who all will also star in the film. The rest of the cast includes Hailey Nebeker, Stevie Dutson, Emily Ashby and Emily Broschinsky. IMDb SYNOPSIS: Seeking inspiration for a new writing project, a man spends Halloween night in a notoriously haunted house. He soon realizes he is living in his own horror story.

Witching Season Films is a Utah-based media production company formed by filmmaker Michael Ballif in 2014. The Witching Season horror anthology, is a series of 5 short horror films released on YouTube as a free web-series. Inspired by anthology shows such as Tales From The Crypt, The Twilight Zone, and Are You Afraid Of The Dark?, The Witching Season delivers originally produced tales of terror, all set during the Halloween season.

They Live Inside Us was originally created as a short film which also doubles as the fourth installment of The Witching Season horror anthology. This 30-minute short was used as a proof of concept to pitch a feature-length adaptation of the same story. A successful crowdfunding campaign through Indiegogo raised a small budget to make the film. Similar to the shorts, the feature will include an abundance of Halloween atmosphere.

SYNOPSIS: When a group of teenagers inadvertently kill his only son, Ed Harley (Lance Henriksen, Aliens) seeks the powers of a backwoods witch to bring the child back to life. We write this to you heartbroken over the fact that the delay of our film is even a discussion, but if there’s one thing that a career in the film industry has prepared us for, it is the unexpected. Over the past few weeks, our film family has looked at the forecast of theatrical exhibition with obvious concern. We have discussed and struggled with how best to present “Halloween Kills” to the loyal fans around the world, as well as the new audience we hope to invite to this experience.

It was a wild and vibrant production. We lined up a cast of legacy characters like Laurie and Tommy, Lindsey, Lonnie, Marion, Brackett and The Shape, then alongside some new faces, we aggressively made the second chapter of our “Halloween” trilogy. It unfolded into an experience that was a creative playground and we feel confident that our misfit pleasures will be seen as an unexpected entry into this franchise.

If we release it in October of this year as planned, we have to face the reality that the film would be consumed in a compromised theatrical experience. After weighing our options, we have chosen to push the film’s theatrical release by one year.

On top of a traditional release, Universal has agreed to an IMAX presentation of the film in October 2021. We are sound mixing with one of the greatest design teams that can slash, scream and creep their way under your skin. We’re going to have time to complete the film with the quality that fans deserve. And preparation on “Halloween Ends” has begun as well.

It is an honor to be working with these characters and spending time in Haddonfield. We look forward to sharing our next chapters with you.

SYNOPSIS from SHUDDER: In this found-footage gem, a documentary crew visit the site of a haunted house attraction whose opening night ended with 15 unexplained deaths. Eventually the crew come across a surviving employee who has footage that shines a scary light on what really went down that night.

As we watch those ill-fated thrillseekers shuffling through the horror house, the knowledge of what’s about to happen makes for a squirm-and-scream-inducing good time. Dread Central called it “a perfect fright flick for the Halloween season” which features “one of the creepiest clowns to appear in a horror movie in a long time.” Sorry Pennywise!

Hell House LLC (2015) premiered yesterday on the Kings of Horror YouTube account. I originally watched the film on Shudder and loved it, and though not as good I also liked the sequels Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel and Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire, the whole trilogy is still on Shudder if you want to check them out.

I missed the premiere but I'm watching now.
