Comedy horror-parody film Wacko (1982) will be released on Blu-ray/DVD combo on February 26, 2019 but you can pre-order now. The special limited edition embossed slipcover above (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to 2,000 units and is only available at the Vinegar Syndrome link below. Orders containing this pre-order will not ship out until mid-February.

Thirteen years ago, at the Halloween Pumpkin Prom, the infamous Lawnmower Killer went on a brutal rampage, murdering several high school students, including Mary Graves' older sister, traumatizing her for life. Now, after the unexpected escape of a prisoner from the state mental hospital, who may or may not be the killer, it's up to hard-nosed gumshoe Dick Harbinger to solve the case before the Lawnmower Killer seeks out a new slew of victims at the upcoming Pumpkin Prom, that is if anyone is able to survive the hilarious horror hijinks leading up to it!

A raucous parody of horror films and teen sex comedies, predating the Scary Movie franchise by nearly two decades, director Greydon Clark's (Joysticks) WACKO features a mind blowing ensemble cast including Joe Don Baker (Goldeneye, Fletch), Stella Stevens (The Poseidon Adventure), George Kennedy (Charade), Charles Napier (The Blues Brothers, Supervixens), Julia Duffy (The Doctors) and Andrew Dice Clay in his first feature film role! Never officially released on DVD and barely available in any format since the 80s, Vinegar Syndrome brings this sidelined chunk of horror-comedy gold to Blu-ray, newly restored in 4k from its long lost camera negative!

  1. I remember watching this movie on YouTube back in the early 2000's when YouTube had that 10 minute time limit and the uploader had to split it into 10 parts. It's so great to see more and more VHS only movies finally get digitally remastered HD releases (Man was I excited when Hack-O-Lantern and Rockula came out on Blu-Ray!).

Wacko itself is pretty mediocre IMO but it did give us one of the greatest lines in cinema history: "Death to all teenagers who fuck!"

    1. Yeah I watched this on Youtube years ago too. I can't remember much about it now but I remember I liked it. I'll check it out again and look for that line. I love Hack-O-Lantern and the Blu-ray looks great. I read about Rockula online but I haven't seen it yet.

  2. I cannot believe I haven't watched this yet! I picked it up from VS years back, and I just slept on it... I'm gonna give it a post-Halloween watch this weekend. This and Jack-O will make a nice double feature I think.

    1. This looks good but it's pretty terrible. I have it on Blu-ray. I don't think I laughed once, all the jokes just didn't land for me. I consider Jack-O a masterpiece compared to this film. 😊
