New GOOSEBUMPS TV Series (2023- ) Premiere on FREEFORM, DISNEY+, HULU

New Goosebumps series inspired by R.L. Stine’s worldwide bestselling Scholastic book series is set to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on Friday the 13th of October. The teen horror-comedy tv series draws on elements from five of the most popular middle grade books including Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms! and Night of the Living Dummy.

The adaptation will launch October 13 on both Disney+ and Hulu with the first five episodes of the series running as part of Disney+’s “Hallowstream” and Hulu’s “Huluween” celebrations. Subsequent installments of the 10-episode series will release weekly. The first two episodes of “Goosebumps” will also air October 13 on Freeform during its “31 Nights of Halloween” programming.

SYNOPSIS: Three decades after a teenage boy named Harold Biddle passed away, the friends throw a Halloween party in his old house, prompting a new haunted reality to come to life. As the kids work together to save their town, they find out some chilling discoveries about their own families.

Rob Letterman, who directed the 2015 Goosebumps movie, will be directing the first episode of the Disney+ series. He’s also on board to write and executive produce. Nick Stoller will also write and executive produce the Goosebumps TV series. Justin Long, Rachael Harris, Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna, Will Price, Zack Morris and Isa Briones star.

Before the two movies Goosebumps (2015) and Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (2018), R. L. Stine’s Goosebumps books were first turned into a TV series back in the 1990s, a live action project that ran for four seasons between 1995 and 1998.
