House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects DVD and Blu-ray covers:

VHS/DVD/BLU-RAY SYNOPSIS: Two young couples take a misguided tour onto the back roads of America in search of a local legend known as Dr. Satan. Lost and stranded, they are set upon by a bizarre family of psychotics. Murder, cannibalism and satanic rituals are just a few of the 1000+ horrors that await.

THEATER RELEASE: The first public screening of the film occurred in Argentina on March 13, 2003. House of 1000 Corpses received its theatrical release on April 11, 2003. The film made its debut in the United Kingdom at Fright Fest, and was the fastest selling event of the night. It grossed $3,460,666 on a limited opening weekend, while boasting $2,522,026 on its official opening. The film opened in second at the box office, behind the comedy film Anger Management (2003). It went on to gross $12,634,962 in the United States alone, with an additional $4,194,583 accumulated worldwide. The film's reported gross is $16,829,545. According to Zombie, Lions Gate Entertainment made back their investment on the film on the first day, and shortly afterwards approached Zombie about a sequel to the film. Having already begun developing ideas for a sequel, Zombie quickly began work on a follow-up called The Devil's Rejects.

VHS/DVD/BLU-RAY RELEASE: House of 1000 Corpses received a VHS and DVD home video release on August 12, 2003. For the main menu of the DVD, Zombie had Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie perform in character as an added bonus. The Blu-ray edition of the film was released on September 18, 2007. The Blu-ray edition of the film features the added menu content with Haig, Moseley and Moon as well as the bonus features found on its initial release. The film was released alongside The Devil's Rejects (2005) in a combo-pack on January 4, 2011. Zombie spoke in 2003 of releasing a "super-duper deluxe" edition of the film on DVD, which he hoped would include the footage of the scrapped characters, as well as deleted footage from the film's death scenes; Zombie also claimed the "fishboy" scene was initially much gorier, and he hoped to include added footage for that scene. Despite Zombie's claims, this version of the film is yet to be released.

  1. I have been searching for the uncut version since 2002 (20 years now!). I noticed on one of the Spanish covers you posted it lists the run time as "1 Hora 47 Minutos". Do you know where you sourced that scan and perhaps the owner of the DVD itself that can maybe verify the run time? There is also a Croation DVD (not seen on your site) that lists the run time as 109 minutes. Any info is appreciated!

    1. I found that Spanish cover years ago at freecovers.net but that site is long gone now. I don't have any other info sorry. Are you the same RHRHomeVideo that created the Halloween Treat trilogy? I fucking love those, I watch them every year, thanks for making. I remade the dvd cover at https://www.deviantart.com/miknas/art/Retro-Horror-Remix-Halloween-Treat-Trilogy-354331470

  2. Hey! Thanks for letting me know, and yes, it's me :) I love the new cover you made! It's rare that I hear anything from the RHR days (didn't know it was even my user name here haha), so thanks for the kind words! I've gone on to Direct over 100 Horror films. My real name is Dustin Ferguson.
